For eleven years, Oakley Farrell has been silent. At the age of five, she stopped talking, and no one seems to know why. Refusing to communicate beyond a few physical actions, Oakley remains in her own little world. Bullied at school, she has just one friend, Cole Benson. Cole stands by her, refusing to believe that she is not perfect the way she is. Over the years, they have developed their own version of a normal friendship. However, will it still work as they start to grow even closer? When Oakley is forced to face someone from her past, can she hold her secret in any longer?

“she kept changing her facts, she kept changing her characters, and did nothing but confuse me. the author didn’t clarify any passages of time, created zero transactions, no images, left out so many details vital to a story telling, I didn’t get any more information out of the book than I did in the summary. She didn’t care enough to take the time to edit; there were so many errors, grammatical, spelling, structure, she skipped words… I understand this could very well be her own story, but if she wanted her story to be told that badly, why is she not putting the effort to try to make the reader understand the feeling, the detail of it all. This had some good potential but the way she jumped around with it… it just wasn’t good.” By Victoria Duff
“I read about 2-3 books a week, and I have to say, this is probably the worst one I’ve read in a very, very long time. I assume the author is quite young and inexperienced at writing. As others have said, the book rambles on for the first 80 percent of the book, then goes into the closing, which I hoped would be so good that the first part of the book would tie in with the ending and make it all worth the read; however, it did not. I did not like the ending at all, but that’s just my opinion. I could not possibly read the sequels to this book. I do hope, though, that this young author is able to continue writing, using an editor who can at least keep things straight, and cut out a lot of the redundancies throughout the book which made it much longer than it should have been. Sorry, but I would not recommend reading this book, unless you are a young teenager who likes love stories.” By M. Willis
